Jafari Burrell a story told through fashion design.

To take it back to the source, I grew up in a Jamaican household with parents who were both very stylish. I was influenced early by their way of dressing and picked up on the idea of fashion being more so about style as a pose to the labels that came with it. I remember learning how to convey a large amount of emotion & attitude though an outfit and loving that feeling.

During high school the art of fashion found me. My creativity started pouring out when I found myself tailoring clothes to my liking because they would often be too short or too wide for my slim frame.

My mother always had a sewing machine laying around which she taught me how to tailor clothes with. I remember shopping for clothes at thrifts stores just so I can tailor them for my friends & I. Later I ventured off into buying fabric which led to my first ever sewing class where I learnt how to make patterns & made my first sweater from scratch. My first ever garment was a black fitted zipped turtleneck with a tun of top stitching detail. I remember feeling mind blown about the fact that I was able to construct a garment from my mind and bring it to reality.

As my passion grew deeper I had my first fashion show at the “Angie’s models showcase” in 2017 then later studied at Richard Robinson fashion design academy to further develop my skills. There I had my 2nd fashion show and designed my first ever floor length gown which was made out of silk charmeuse. This was the spark that pushed my passion for fashion & put me on the road to presenting “Fari Creek” to the world.

Thanks for reading much love & may your inspirations run through you!
